Katey Sagal is coming to "Glee."

The "Sons of Anarchy" star is used to playing the mother of a son who's always on his wheels. But her maternal instincts will need to adapt to wheels of a different sort when Sagal guest-stars as Artie's ( Kevin McHale) mother on an upcoming episode of "Glee."

The news was first announced by "Glee" creator and executive producer Ryan Murphy, via his always-informative Twitter account:

"So thrilled to announce my friend Katey Sagal is playing Artie's mom on Glee! There is nothing this woman can't do!"

Sagal will appear on the 21st episode of the current Season 4 of the musical-comedy series, an episode titled "Wonder-ful," according to Give Me My Remote. As one might expect from the punny title, this episode is expected to be an ode to the music of Motown great Stevie Wonder.

Although known mostly these days for playing the tough-as-nails Gemma Morrow on "Sons of Anarchy," Sagal got her big break on the early FOX series, "Married... With Children." The actress has also voiced the character of Leela on "Futurama" throughout that series' long run.

It is not yet known whether or not Sagal will do any singing on "Glee," but it's a definite possibility. The actress released a musical album in 1994 and is very capable of taking on the lyrically inclined show when she guest-stars.
