'Glee': Who is Jonathan Groff?
Groff was nominated for a Tony for his performance as Melchior, the forward-thinking guy who devirginizes Lea's character (and gets her pregnant!) so he's gotten very, very good at playing Lea's love interest.
"Glee" isn't Groff's first TV gig. He played a volatile high school student on "One Life to Live" before his character was killed off. You may also recognize him from his role in last summer's Ang Lee film "Taking Woodstock" where he starred alongside Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Emile Hirsche.
We're glad he's back alongside Lea, though we're not sure we can trust his character, Jesse St. James. After all, he is the lead singer of the rival show choir, and it seemed like he was eyeballing his director - played by fellow Broadway star Idina Menzel - over Rachel's shoulder.
One thing's for sure. Lea and Jonathan love working together. They barely left one another's side at the "Glee" premiere party in Hollywood last night.
