Fans of the show and the Material Girl opened their wallets and helped "The Power of Madonna" soundtrack debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, says The Hollwyood Reporter. The soundtrack sold about 98,000 copies overall.

Of the tracks on the soundtrack, "Like a Prayer," which was sung by the series' show choir New Directions hit No. 10 on the Digital Songs singles chart, selling 87,000 downloads. On the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, it will debut at No. 27 Thursday (April 29).

By extension, Madonna's own original music has also reaped the benefits. Several of her albums saw a jump in sales, as did her digital song downloads.

In other "Glee" news, the Myspace open casting call has been extended by a day. The final day to audition online is Thursday, April 29.
