'Glee's' Matthew Morrison releases first single, 'Summer Rain' - listen!

"Glee" star Matthew Morrison released the first single off his upcoming album Monday morning (Feb. 28) via Ryan Seacrest's official website. In a pre-release interview, Morrison says, "I've always wanted to do an album and with the success of "Glee," it's kind of afforded me the opportunity to make that happen."

He also says that the tenor of the album changed over the course of writing the songs.

"I think in the begining I was trying to gear it towards the 'Glee' audience, to make it a kind of poppy, vibrant record," says Morrison. "But then I started writing those kind of songs and it didn't resonate with me ... The album has evolved greatly."

Here are the "Summer Rain" lyrics. What do you think of the song?

On the rooftop thinkin' it's about to pour
People run for shelter, tryin' to get out that storm
But I got you with me, the sun behind me
So what are we leavin' for? Let's stay. Let's get carried away

Your eyes are beggin' me to touch you there
Could be a thousand people watchin' but we don't care

CHORUS

But look at you tonight, so beautiful under these neon lights, yeah
Who needs lovers' lane? Right up on this rooftop, let's make love in the summer rain

Nothin' better than givin' this all to you
And the weather's only adding to the mood
See the wind's blowin', fire's growin', both of us soakin' wet
But let's stay, yeah.

There's no place that I'd rather make love to you
Right here on this roof, yeah

Look at you tonight, so beautiful under these neon lights, yeah
Who needs lovers' lane? Right up on this rooftop, let's make love in the summer rain

Look at you tonight, so beautiful under these neon lights, yeah
Who needs lovers' lane? Right up on this rooftop, let's make love in the summer rain

The song's definitely not something we see the "Glee" set going after, but we don't hate it. One thing's for sure - we don't enjoy his off-season pornstache in the picture below from his interview.
