Glenn Beck may create his own TV network: Would you watch?

To watch what Glenn Beck gets away with as a FOX News Channel employee, some viewers would shudder at the thought of him being the boss. Yet, it seems like he may be creating the framework for his own network when his contract is up at the end of the year.

According to the New York Times, sources say Beck is contemplating his own cable channel - much like Oprah Winfrey has done with OWN - or the expansion of his current subscription video service.

And when reports that a senior FOX executive, Joel Cheatwood, will be leaving the network for Beck's media company, Mercury Radio Arts, the rumors that Beck will leave FOX and create his own network began making sense. Recent hires to his subscription web network and the announcement that it's beefing up content also lays some groundwork for Beck's move to create his own channel.

It's no secret that Beck has had some trouble acclimating to FOX and it seems to be jockeying in the media for leverage when it comes to whether or not they'll let him go when his contract expires.

Heading to his own network gives Beck the control over not only his own content, but the ability to choose other personalities and shows that fit his, shall we say, extreme political leanings.

But, can his brand support an entire network? Even media doyenne Winfrey has been suffering from low ratings and financial shortfalls at OWN.

Would you watch the Glenn Beck Channel? What do you think are the chances for its success?
