We all expected Tina Fey and Amy Poehler to once again excel as hosts of the 71st Golden Globe Awards, and they completely exceeded all expectations during their show-opening monologue.

The "Saturday Night Live" alums and BFFs absolutely killed it with their one-liners during their speech, making the ballroom guffaw with laughter after each one. "Welcome to the 71st annual Tina Fey and Amy Poehler Lee Daniels' 'The Butler' Golden Globe Awards," Fey says as she kicked it off.

Poehler had a great time giving some of the A-list stars a hard time. "Matt Damon, on any other night, you would be a big deal," Poehler quips. "But don't take this the wrong way, tonight you're a garbage person."

While Fey and Poehler crushed it in their monologue, the opener was stolen by Julia Louis-Dreyfus. "Interestingly enough, Julia Louis-Dreyfus is sitting in the film section tonight," Poehler notes. "Julia, hi Julia, you know us from TV."

To which Louis-Dreyfus responded by ignoring Poehler and Fey -- and refusing to take a selfie with Reese Witherspoon -- while rocking some shades and puffing away on an electronic cigarette:

"Wow, she's really changed. Just gross," Fey said.

What did you think of the opening monologue? Can Fey and Poehler just host everything from now on? They've definitely proved themselves as worthy hosts.
