'Good Luck Charlie' canceled after 4 seasons on Disney Channel

The Disney Channel says Season 4 of the live-action show, which centers on a teenage girl ( Bridgit Mendler) giving advice to the title character, her little sister Charlie, will be its last. It remains in production and will have enough episodes to stretch into next year.

"'That's a wrap' will be called on the production after four years with creators/executive producers Phil Baker and Drew Vaupen and executive producer Dan Staley," Disney says in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter. "The cast and crew are superb, they deserve tribute for their work and we will look forward to the big finale episode the creative team is planning."

"Good Luck Charlie" has enjoyed solid ratings throughout its run and regularly finishes in the Top 25 among cable series when new episodes air. But its end after four seasons is in keeping with Disney's M.O. -- its live-action shows rarely run more than four years.
