'Gossip Girl's' Chace Crawford Dives Into the Super Bowl. Go Saints!

chace-crawford.jpgOn Friday (Feb. 5), Zap2it caught up with Texas native Chace Crawford, who plays Manhattan society hunk Nate Archibald on The CW's "Gossip Girl," just before he was ready to get on a plane at JFK Airport in New York City.

His eventual destination is Sun Life Stadium in Miami Gardens, Fla., home to Super Bowl XLIV, between the New Orleans Saints (in the team's first Super Bowl bid, wrested from the Minnesota Vikings in a 3-point overtime victory) and the Indianapolis Colts, led by uber-QB Peyton Manning.

We snuck in a few questions before boarding:

Zap2it: Which is your team?

Chace Crawford: Well, they asked me to play in it, so I figured, why not? (big laugh) The Dallas Cowboys are my team. I'm kind of rooting for the Saints, though; I'm kind of pulling for those Saints.

Zap2it: Is that because Louisiana is next door to Texas?

Chace: Yeah, exactly! It's gotta happen some day. Should be a good game. Very good seats this year, so I'm pumped. I love my football.

Zap2it: Did you ever dream of being a quarterback?

Chace: Oh, absolutely. I started playing when I was nine. I played quarterback, actually, for a bunch of years. Then I got into golf and quit football, and I came back to football.

So, "GG" fans, keep your eyes on the stands and you might find out whether Crawford prefers champagne and caviar in a private box or hot dogs and beer on the 50-yard line.
