Take your first look at Donal Logue as Detective Harvey Bullock in FOX's forthcoming "Gotham":

donal-logue-gotham-wb.jpgThe DC Comics-based show centers on Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie), who when the series begins is a young detective partnered with the veteran Bullock, a "rough-around-the-edges" cop with a disdain for proper procedure but also a very good track record in the department.

Based on this first photo, "Gotham" has the rough-around-the-edges part of Bullock pretty much nailed. Logue isn't the same physical type as the Bullock of "Batman: The Animated Series" (which is probably the character's best-known on-screen representation) and some of his depictions in DC Comics, but the trademark fedora and slightly disheveled look are pretty spot-on.

According to a synopsis of the show, Bullock and Gordon will be assigned to a huge case -- the murder of Thomas and Martha Wayne -- where Gordon first encounters the couple's orphaned son, Bruce (David Mazouz).

"Gotham" has a series commitment from FOX and is expected to be part of the network's 2014-15 lineup. Look for another photo from the show Friday (March 21).
