Gov. Chris Christie's favorite fat jokes on 'David Letterman'Add to Favorites | Late Show With David Letterman
New Jersey Governor Chris Christie stopped by "The Late Show with David Letterman" Monday night (Feb. 4), which was a smidge awkward for the late-night host because Christie is often the subject of Letterman's monologue jokes -- especially because of his weight. But Christie takes it all in stride.
"I love you, Dave. A love that I have a difficult time really explaining. A deep and abiding love," says Christie, getting out a donut.
"I only care if you're funny. From my perspective, if the joke is funny, I laugh, even if it's about me. If it's not funny, I don't laugh. But I've never felt like it was anything that really bugged me all that much," says Christie, adding that he finds about 40% of Letterman's jokes about him funny.
But Christie was prepared with two of his favorite jokes Letterman has made at his expense:
"Celebrity birthdays today. Chris Christie turned 50. He blew out the candles on his cake and he wished for another cake."
"A billion dollars will be spent on potato chips for Super Bowl Sunday, and that's just at Governor Christie's house."
