Grammys 2013: Taylor Swift's British accent disses Harry Styles in 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together'
Taylor Swift has made the first strike in the inevitable musical war against her One Direction ex, Harry Styles -- and she did it in front of millions as she opened the 55th Annual Grammy Awards. In a glittery top hat and sassy shorts, Swift sang her hit "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" -- and though the song wasn't written for Styles, this particular version was definitely directed at him.
During the spoken word part of her song, Taylor says, "So he calls me up, and he's like, 'I still love you.'"
This time when she imitated the old flame begging, " I still love you," Swift affected a British accent. It was a pretty clear diss to Styles, who is the only Brit she's dated in recent history. Turns out she was too busy opening the Grammy Awards to ever, ever get back together.
One Direction wasn't nominated for a Grammy this year, but Swift won an award before the show even started. No wonder she's ditched the dark, moody look she had going on in favor of returning to her very sparkly self. She even did her own nails for the occasion!
Despite the low blow at Styles, we remain Team Taylor. Somehow, we doubt Tumblr will agree.
