'Gran Turismo' movie coming from producers Michael de Luca, Dana Brunetti
At the Sony press conference at Gamescom in Germany, Sony Computer Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan confirmed that one of the company's biggest franchise is going to head to the big screen. A "Gran Turismo" movie, which was originally announced in July by The Wrap, is currently in the works.
This is the second big racing video game franchise to have a big screen adaptation head into production. A "Need for Speed" movie starring Aaron Paul is in production at Dreamworks. Both will go head-to-head with Universal's "The Fast and the Furious" franchise.
"The Social Network" producers Michael de Luca and Dana Brunetti are producing the "Gran Turismo" movie. "One that I have been after for over three years. Finally," Brunetti tweeted when the movie was announced.
