Gregg Allman gets a new liver, plans to release a new album

Gregg Allman, co-founder of the legendary Southern rock group the Allman Brothers, has just undergone a successful liver transplant. The rocker, who had a long history of drug and alcohol abuse, was famously once married to Cher.

"I feel pretty good, considering everything that's happened," Allman, 62, said on his website. "Everybody involved here, my doctors and nurses in the hospital and all the Allman Brothers fans, they've just all been great. All I can really say is 'thanks.'"
