'Grey's Anatomy' star Sarah Drew welcomes a baby boyAdd to Favorites | Grey's Anatomy
The couple welcomed son Micah Emmanuel Lanfer at 6:21 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 18 in Los Angeles, their rep tells People. The baby boy weighed 7 lbs. 4 oz. and measured 19 inches long.
"She and her husband, Peter Lanfer, are in love with him," says the rep.
While many TV star pregnancies are written into their shows' plots, that wasn't the case with Drew -- her character, young surgeon April Kepner, is still a virgin. That would've been an awkward explanation!
Drew tells People that she decided not to find out the gender of her newborn until birth because she is "a control freak by nature. I'm about to walk into a chapter of my life where I have no control over anything anymore, and I figured I'd ease myself into it by not allowing myself to plan for the gender of the baby. It's good training for me!"
Drew's "Grey's" costar Jessica Capshaw recently announced that she's pregnant with her third child.
