'Guardians of the Galaxy' trailer: Yes, that's Andy Dwyer's BFF Lord Covington from 'Parks and Recreation'

lord-covington-guardians-of-the-galaxy-marvel.jpgAre you a "Parks and Recreation" fan who tuned into the just-released "Guardians of the Galaxy" trailer to support your favorite funnyman Chris Pratt who felt you recognized someone else from the NBC comedy's world? Well, if so, trust your intuition.

Because yes, that Nova Corps Officer standing behind John C. Reilly's Rhomann Dey calling the Guardians "a bunch of A-holes" is none other than Andy Dwyer's London BFF Lord Covington ( Peter Serafinowicz). And that makes the "Parks and Rec" crew's decision to cast Serafinowicz as Covington so meta it's insane.

Think about it (if it doesn't wrinkle your brain too much): "Parks and Rec" had to find a way to work around Pratt's absence while filming "Guardians" in London, so the show went to the UK to film, leaving Andy there in the employ of Lord Covington. In other words, the movie keeping Pratt in London found its way into keeping Andy in London, as well, by employing an actor from the film keeping Pratt. Very cool.

What do you think of "Parks and Rec" and their meta winking at "Guardians of the Galaxy" with Serafinowicz? Sound off in the comments below.
