Fresh off news that Tobey Maguire and Kristen Wiig were joining the six-episode IFC original, Deadline reports that Haley Joel Osment has signed on to co-star. He'll play Winston, the devilish son of Cynthia, played by Wiig.

"The Spoils of Babylon," produced by Ferrell's Funny Or Die, is a spoof of the classic miniseries (think "The Thorn Birds"), telling the story of the Morehouse family, who made their riches in the oil business. It centers on Devon Morehouse (Maguire), the adopted son of oil magnate Jonas Morehouse. As Devon and Jonas' biological daughter Cynthia run Morehouse Enterprises together, they must fight their romantic feelings for one another.

Cynthia, consumed with a reckless ambition for power, raised Winston in the same vein, and now he's beginning to insert himself in the family business.

Ferrell doing double duty in the show, playing both the author of the fake novel on which the miniseries is baded and the shah of Iran, who's involved in shady dealings with the Morehouse family.

"The Spoils of Babylon" is schedule to premiere late this year on IFC. Ferrell is executive producing alongside Adam McKay.
