'Half-Ton Killer: Transformed' sneak peek: Mayra Rosales' weight loss regime

tlc-half-ton-killer-transformed.jpgIn 2008, Mayra Rosales was one of the heaviest people in the world, weighing in at more than 1,000 pounds, and made headlines when she confessed to accidentally killing her nephew by smothering him. She became the subject of TLC's 2012 documentary "Half-Ton Killer" when it was later revealed that she had lied to protect her sister, who is now serving time for her son's murder.

Now, Rosales has lost more than 800 pounds, which TLC documented in a new special, "Half-Ton Killer: Transformed," airing Wednesday (Dec. 4) at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

Zap2it has an exclusive sneak peek at the special showing the beginning of Rosales' massive weight loss. She's in the hospital eating a restricted 1000-calorie diet, and manages to lose 100 pounds in a single week. Still, her massive legs feel like shackles.

"I've lost some weight already, but from my waist up I'm smaller than the rest of me. I feel like back when they would get people in jail and tie around them, like, a big ball. I have those balls attached to my legs and I can't move," she says.
