'Happy Town' bumped; MTV picks up American 'Skins'
The mystery series will still air on Wednesday (May 12) as scheduled, but it will be bumped for "Primetime: What Would You Do?" on May 19 (the movie "Transformers" is scheduled for 8 to 11 p.m. on May 26, opposite the "American Idol" finale). The show will return to the lineup at 10 p.m. ET June 2 and run through the rest of the month; its finale is scheduled for June 30.
"Happy Town" has had a rough start in the ratings. Its April 28 premiere averaged 5.2 million viewers, and last week's episode fell to 3.9 million viewers.
- MTV has picked up an American version of the British series "Skins."
The cable channel has ordered 10 episodes of the show, which has been a critical darling in the U.K. for its frank portrayal of teenage life -- complete with sex, drugs and raunchy humor. The American version will be set in Baltimore.
There's no word yet on casting for the series -- MTV has said it wants to follow the original's lead and cast mostly unknown actors -- or a start date for production. Bryan Elsley, who co-created the series, will executive produce MTV's version with Charles Pattinson and George Faber.
MTV acquired the rights to "Skins" last year.
- Supermodel Iman will be the new co-host of "The Fashion Show" on Bravo.
She will replace Kelly Rowland on the show. Isaac Mizrahi, who also hosted the fashion-design competition last season, will return.
"I am so excited to be joining the Bravo team and to be working again with Isaac Mizrahi, my close friend of many, many years," Iman says. "I am also looking forward to all of the behind-the-scenes excitement and drama that is generated through the creative process of these undiscovered fashion designers."
Season 2 of "The Fashion Show" is set to premiere later this year.
