'Hawaii Five-0': Scott Caan's knee injury being written into the show
In fact, the injury will become part of a future episode.
Caan, who's had some knee problems in the past, was hurt last week. The New York Post, which broke the story, says he was injured filming a stunt for the show, but a CBS rep tells Zap2it it didn't occur on set. Caan flew to Los Angeles to have surgery and is expected to return to work on Monday (Aug. 23). He won't miss any episodes, and the show continued filming without him in the meantime.
The injury will probably stop Caan from doing much stunt work in the immediate future, but it will also be written into an upcoming episode in which his character, Detective Danny "Danno" Williams, suffers a similar mishap and uses his visit to the doctor to complain about his new partner, Steve McGarrett ( Alex O'Loughlin).
As executive producer Peter Lenkov puts it in a statement, "Working with McGarrett, you're bound to get a few bumps and bruises along the way."
"Hawaii Five-0," a remake of the classic cop show that aired from 1968-80, premieres Monday, Sept. 20 on CBS.
