It sounds like the "Agent Carter" TV series may actually be happening. It was first reported in September that Marvel was considering expanding the One-Shot short film featured on the "Iron Man 3" Blu-ray. Now, it sounds like it's one step closer to becoming a reality.

According to the Daily Mirror, Hayley Atwell, who played Peggy Carter in the short, has signed on to reprise her role after finishing filming "Captain America: The Winter Soldier." A source says "Agent Carter" is Marvel's "major project" in 2014. On the TV side, presumably. The company also has a little movie called "Avengers: Age of Ultron" in the works.

The series hasn't been formally announced by Marvel, so there's no telling where it would actually end up if it happens. Currently, Marvel has "Agents of SHIELD" on ABC and an upcoming slate of programming on Netflix.

As for the plot, the "Agent Carter" short featured Atwell's character working for SHIELD after World War II and the events of "Captain America: The First Avenger."
