The show follows record exec Richie Finestra, played by Bobby Cannavale, with Ray Romano playing his close friend and coworker and Olivia Wilde playing his wife.

James Jagger, the son of executive producer Mick Jagger, will play the lead singer of a punk band. Joe Caniano is Cannavale's character's chauffeur, while Andrew Dice Clay will play an obnoxious owner of a chain of radio stations. Ato Essandoh ("Copper") is a musician and old colleague of Richie's, and "Sopranos" alum Robert Funaro has been cast as a mob enforcer.

Birgitte Sorenson will play a Danish actress and friend of Wilde's character, while J.C. Mackenzie will play the record label's head of sales.

Already cast in the period drama are Juno Temple as an A&R assistant, Max Casella as the A&R head and Jack Quaid as an A&R exec.
