Everything promoting HBO's new dramatic anthology series "True Detective" has been atmospheric and gorgeous, and the new poster for the show is no exception. Featuring stars Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson, the poster continues the marketing campaign's trend of using its imagery to speak volumes about the content of the series.

"True Detective" follows Harrelson and McConaughey's characters as they work a brutal murder case in 1995, and then later in the present day when the case is reopened. Several teasers have already been released that focus more on showcasing the brooding quality of the story instead of revealing plot details.

The tagline on the new poster is, "Touch darkness and darkness touches you back." Fittingly the poster is in sepia tones, and is divided into two sections to symbolize the parallel storylines in the series.

"True Detective" premieres on HBO on Sunday, Jan. 12 at 9 p.m. Has the marketing campaign won you over?
