Heidi Klum and Seal: 'We have decided to separate'
"While we have enjoyed seven very loving, loyal and happy years of marriage, after much soul-searching we have decided to separate," reads a statement to People magazine.
"We have had the deepest respect for one another throughout our relationship and continue to love each other very much, but we have grown apart. This is an amicable process and protecting the well-being of our children remains our top priority, especially during this time of transition.
"We thank our family, friends, and fans for their kind words of support. And for our children's sake, we appreciate you respecting our privacy."
The couple have four children: Leni, 7, Henry, 6, Johan, 5, and Lou, 2. The supermodel and the musician met in 2003, married in 2005 and have renewed their vows every year since in front of friends and family -- they did so again last May in Palm Beach.
Rumors of an impending split kicked into high gear after Klum turned up alone at the Golden Globe Awards on Jan. 15. On Friday, Seal tweeted the words "The End" and as the weekend drew to a close several sites reported that Klum was just days away from filing divorce papers.
