Hillary Clinton miniseries makes NBC newsman Chuck Todd grumpyAdd to Favorites | Morning Joe
NBC News political director and White House correspondent Chuck Todd isn't especially happy about it either -- because he thinks it will make his job harder.
"This miniseries is a total nightmare for NBC News," Todd said Thursday (Aug. 8) on MSNBC's "Morning Joe." "... We know we have nothing to do with it. We know we'd love probably to be as critical or whatever it is going to be if it comes out. But there's nothing we can do about it, and we're going to only own the negative."
NBC News has nothing to do with the programming decisions NBC Entertainment makes, and vice versa, nor has the network commited to producing the miniseries. That, however, hasn't stopped Republican National Committee chairman Reince Preibus from threatening to pull 2016 primary debates from NBC channels unless it scraps the Clinton project.
In announcing the project, NBC Entertainment chairman Bob Greenblatt said the four-hour miniseries, which will star Diane Lane as Hillary Clinton, could air well before Clinton formally declares she's running for president in 2016 (if she in fact does so).
