Hillary Clinton praised by Dick Cheney: 'One of the more competent members of the current administration'

hillary-clinton-dick-cheney-getty.jpgFormer vice president Dick Cheney made some rather surprising comments about Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in an interview with Fox News over the weekend when asked if the Democrats would have fared better with Clinton as president and therefore the 2012 candidate instead of President Obama.

Cheney praised Clinton when he said, "I have a sense that she's one of the more competent members of the current administration and it would be interesting to speculate about how she might perform were she to be president."

"Well, I certainly wouldn't want to discourage good primary contest on their side, but I don't want to be the position of endorsing Hillary Clinton. That might be the kiss of death for her," Cheney continues.

Sounds a little like Cheney is encouraging someone to challenge the sitting president, something Clinton has shown no interest in doing.

Cheney adds that President Obama "has been not very effective, frankly, especially in the economic arena."

What do you think, Pop2it readers? If you're a Democrat, would you vote for Hillary if she ran against the sitting president?
