Hines Ward: 'Dancing with the Stars' Season 12 champ retires from football

Hines Ward.jpg"Dancing With the Stars" Season 12 champion Hines Ward is retiring from football. He made this announcement the day after the premiere of Season 14. We're not saying this was on purpose, but it does seem appropriate.

The longtime Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver's announcement comes three weeks after he was released by his team during salary cap negotiations. Ward has been at the top of his game, winning two Super Bowls and being named MVP in 2006.

Check out Ward and partner Kym Johnson in their finale performance that won him the mirror ball trophy. We're sure that's next to a few other statues in his house.
