'Holidaze's' Jennie Garth: 'There's a few twists'
"It has a very classic theme to it, someone who's living a certain life -- my character is living in the city and hustle and bustle of all that," says Garth. "She really doesn't have any desire to have kids or have a family, she just wants to be a career woman. She's cutthroat, she wants to climb the corporate ladder and be successful. Those are her main goals in life at the beginning of the film."
"But she gets sent back to her hometown, which she's not very thrilled about, to try to push the sale of a big warehouse through," Garth continues, "and she ends up having this life-changing experience there, which re-prioritizes her life and makes her look at things a little differently. We see a different side of her by the end of the movie."
Part of the transformation for Melody is re-connecting with her high school sweetheart Carter, played by "All My Children" star Cameron Mathison. The two grew apart because of Melody's desire to leave their town for the big city.
"They wanted different things and they just parted ways," says Garth. "The romance re-blossoms and then it dies and then it re-blossoms again. [ laughs] A couple things happen to them, there's a few twists in it."
"Holidaze" premieres Sunday night at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC Family.
