'Homeland' bosses Howard Gordon and Alex Gansa sell crime pilot to CBS

alex-gansa-howard-gordon-emmys.jpg After dominating the Emmys with six wins for "Homeland," executive producers Howard Gordon and Alex Gansa just scored another prize: a pilot production commitment from CBS.

"Anatomy of Violence," inspired by criminologist Adrian Raine's forthcoming book examining biology's role in criminal behavior, centers on "a female FBI agent who starts working with a mysterious psychiatrist with whom she shares a past connection."

If CBS picks up "Violence" to series (is that really a question?), Gordon will take the reins as showrunner, with "Homeland" showrunner Gansa executive producing and writing alongside him.

It's hard not to imagine Claire Danes playing "Anatomy of Violence's" FBI agent, but Gansa and Gordon are clearly going to keep her busy on "Homeland" for years to come. But maybe Damian Lewis can play the shrink? We have a funny feeling he won't be tormenting Carrie Mathison for much longer...
