suraj-sharma-homeland-season-4-gi.jpgSuraj Sharma is joining the cast of "Homeland" in Season 4. The "Life of Pi" and "Million Dollar Arm" actor picked up a "heavily recurring" role in the upcoming Showtime season.

Entertainment Weekly reports that Sharma is playing Aayan Ibrahim, a "Pakistani medical student who crosses paths with Carrie Mathison." It's unclear whether he will be a protagonist or antagonist.

Earlier this week, "Homeland" cast Corey Stoll as Sandy Bachman, "the CIA Chief of Station in Pakistan and a rising star in the Agency's firmament," and Laila Robins as Martha Boyd, "the United States Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, who is professional and put together, with a ship-to-ship voice and the personality to match."

"Homeland" Season 4 begins shooting in Cape Town, Africa later in June.
