'Homeland' season finale preview: It's explosive
There's a reason the show just scored a trio of Golden Globe nominations (Best Show, Best Actress, Best Actor). It is utterly bananas -- in a good way.
Here's where we're at: A bipolar CIA analyst ( Claire Danes) who was just taken into custody is maybe the only person in the world who can stop a planned terrorist attack on U.S. soil perpetrated by a really hot returned prisoner of war whose mental state is, depending on how you look at it, either crystal clear or severely fractured.
In any case, all signs point to the Marine -- played by the Globe-nominated Damian Lewis -- being ready to detonate himself and a room full of government elites (including the vice president) on behalf of a terrorist mastermind. Will he do it? We find out on Sunday, but first here are a couple of clips from the coming show -- neither of which gives away too much information. Just enough to get us (sorry again!) charged up.
In the first clip, Sgt. Brody (Lewis) dons his explosive vest:
In the second, Saul ( Mandy Patinkin) tries to pick up the pieces of Carrie's (Claire Danes') theory about the afore-mentioned mastermind, Abu Nazeer -- which he hopes will clue him in to the attack in enough time to stop it.
