Legendary goal keeper Hope Solo reportedly married her boyfriend of two months, former NFL tight end Jerramy Stevens, just two days after he was arrested on suspicion of assault.
The night before the couple's planned nuptials in Washington, police were summoned by Hope's brother Marcus Solo to the site of a pre-wedding party. Hope, who had a bloodied elbow, was uncooperative with police and reportedly yelled at her brother, "Don't say anything to them, Marcus."
Police took Stevens into custody when they found him hiding out with blood on his cheek and shirt, which he reportedly blamed on a kiss from Solo. A judge later released Stevens based on lack of evidence of an assault.
Big Lead Sports reports a sports radio host in Seattle and Solo's US National soccer teammate Jillian Loyden both confirmed via Twitter the nuptials did take place. No word yet as to where the couple will live -- Washington or Florida -- which was reportedly the topic of the argument that instigated the physical altercation between them.
The alleged assault was not Stevens' first run-in with the law -- far from it. He was charged with felony battery for punching two Florida bouncers in 2011. He also has faced multiple DUI counts, and was convicted of a hit-and-run when he crashed into a nursing home in 2011. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers released Stevens in 2010 following an arrest for possession of marijuana with intent to sell. The team had suspended Stevens two years prior for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy.
Note to Hope: If you have not in fact sealed the deal, get out while you can.
