'House' gets Amber Tamblyn as a new med student for the team

amber-tamblyn-320-getty.jpg Amber Tamblyn, the Emmy- and Golden Globe-nominated "Joan of Arcadia" star, is coming back to the small screen this fall on "House."

Tamblyn has signed on to appear in the upcoming seventh season of the award-winning show in a multi-episode story arc. She will play "a brilliant and aggressive medical student" hired by Dr. House (Hugh Laurie) to work on the Princeton-Plainsboro hospital team, despite not yet being qualified to practice medicine. The character will have to find a way to deal with the morally and ethically questionable ways in which Dr. House practices medicine.

The seventh season premiere of "House" airs Monday, Sept. 20 at 8 p.m. ET on FOX, followed by the new Texas oil-rig, con-man drama "Lone Star." Should make for a good Monday night double feature.
