"House of Cards" Season 3 has cast two former members of Russian punk band Pussy Riot to play unannounced roles on the Netflix show. Could the Kevin Spacey drama be heading into the realm of real-life politics with this move?

According to the Baltimore City Paper, Nadezhda "Nadya" Tolokonnikova and Maria Alyokhina were on the Baltimore set of "House of Cards" Thursday (Aug. 7), and an unnamed source at the show confirmed that the two musicians would be a part of Season 3.

Their roles on the show, however, remain a mystery.

Pussy Riot gained worldwide notoriety when the group's anti-Putin protest at a Moscow cathedral landed Tolokonnikova and Alyokhina each with two-year sentences in a penal colony. Both women were released in 2013 after 22 months imprisoned. They later protested at the Winter Olympics in Sochi and were attacked as a result.
