'House of Cards' trailer: Netflix series puts Kevin Spacey in power
The show is the first regular role in a series for Spacey, and from the trailer it's easy to see why he signed on. He plays Francis Underwood, a ruthless congressman who's denied a Cabinet post by the incoming president ( Michael Gill) and will stop at nothing to get what he wants.
Underwood's wife, Claire ( Robin Wright), is right on board with his quest, and he co-opts a young reporter ( Kate Mara) to help him as well. Corey Stoll ("Law & Order: LA") and Michael Kelly ("Person of Interest") also star.
The series (produced by Media Rights Capital) is part of Netflix's new lineup of original shows, which also includes "Arrested Development," dramedy "Orange Is the New Black" and the horror series "Hemlock Grove."
All 13 episodes of "House of Cards" will be available on Feb. 1. Take a look at the trailer and let us know what you think.
