If you're wondering exactly what's going to happen in the final episode of "How I Met Your Mother," creator Craig Thomas may be providing clues over on Twitter.

Thomas posted a couple of tweets Thursday (Jan. 2), all about the series finale of "Cheers." "Watched the #Cheers series finale again for inspiration; cried as hard as I did in 1993. A reminder why we do what we do. #HIMYM," one message reads, while another says, "I'd be proud if #HIMYM finale were even half as good as that! #cheers"

In the finale of "Cheers," the main character Sam Malone ( Ted Danson) ends up alone in his bar, after friend and customer Norm ( George Wendt) tell him he'll always come back to his one true love. It's implied that may be the bar the show was set in. That would surely be a bizarre ending for "How I Met Your Mother," with Ted ( Josh Radnor) sitting alone at MacLaren's Pub.

If "How I Met Your Mother" ends half as strongly as "Cheers" did, that's going to be one fantastic finale. "HIMYM" takes its final bow March 31 on CBS.
