Hugh Grant's daughter with Tinglang Hong changes his perspective on having children

hugh-grant-ellen-degeneres-show.jpg Hugh Grant is generally  very quiet about his private life, but on today's episode of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," he shares some adorable details about his baby daughter, Tabitha.

Grant admits that he was surprised to learn that Tabitha's mother, Tinglang Hong, was pregnant, because their relationship was extremely brief. "I can't pretend it wasn't a little bit of a surprise but, it's a very nice surprise," he says of his daughter, who is now six months old.

In fact, Tabitha's Chinese name, Jingxi, reflects that. "The baby's name in Chinese, because the mother is Chinese, means 'happy surprise.'"

Grant says that he hadn't ever planned to have children, but now that Tabitha is around, he's glad he did. "It's surprising that everyone was right all these years, saying, 'Hugh, why don't you have some children? It changes your life!' and you're thinking 'Oh, shut up.' And now that I have, it is life changing. I recommend it. Get some."
