Hugh Hefner's secretary Mary O'Connor dies

She is pictured above dancing at Hef's 81st birthday party in 2007. O'Connor served as Hef's Gal Friday and confidant for over 40 years. He tweeted the news of her passing Sunday night (Jan. 27).

"Mary passed away today. We loved her more than words can say," says Hef.

O'Connor became somewhat of a household name once Hef and his bunnies had their own reality show, "The Girls Next Day." Mary could be seen dispensing advice and wisdom to the girls in the house, from things like their clothes to advice about the man himself.

The bunnies got in on the condolences.

"Rest in peace, Mary," writes Holly Madison.

"RIP Mary O'Connor. She was an amazing person who helped me through so much. But I know she's happy with her boo Captain Bob. :)," writes Kendra Wilkinson. "I said a prayer earlier for her and said an inside joke I know she was laughing at. RIP Mary O'Connor."

"The girls know I'm here if they need me," O'Connor told Irish Central in a 2010 interview.
