'Hunger Games: Catching Fire' casting: Jena Malone eyed for Johanna Mason

jena-malone-catching-fire-johanna-gi.jpgWhile the biggest casting question related to "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" is who will play Finnick Odair, there are plenty of other characters introduced in the second chapter of the "Hunger Games" trilogy who need to come to life on screen. Now, casting directors are meeting with actresses to play Johanna Mason, one of the standout tributes in the Quarter Quell.

While Kristen Bell has started a very public campaign to play the District 7 champion, who won her Hunger Games by pretending to be a weakling and outsmarting her competitors, Entertainment Weekly reports that Jena Malone is being considered for the role.

Contrary to previous reports, Mia Wasikowska hasn't been approached for the role (and wouldn't be available to film), though model Zoe Aggeliki could still be in the running.

Malone has starred in big-budget action films like 2011's "Sucker Punch" and recently costarred alongside Kevin Costner in the History channel's "Hatfields & McCoys" miniseries.
