Hyperemesis gravidarum check-up: Prince William visits pregnant Kate Middleton in the hospital
BBC reports that William spent Monday with Middleton at the hospital as she experienced her second day of pregnancy sickness. She is expected to stay in the central London hospital for several days. Hyperemesis gravidarum is said to be slightly more common when a woman is expecting twins, though the status of Middleton's child (or children) has yet to be confirmed.
"Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting a baby," the palace announced in a statement. "The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall and Prince Harry and members of both families are delighted with the news."
The statement continued, "As the pregnancy is in its very early stages, Her Royal Highness is expected to stay in hospital for several days and will require a period of rest thereafter."
