Ian Somerhalder and Luke Hemsworth are teaming up together on a new feature film. Unstoppable Entertainment announced that the "Vampire Diaries" star and the brother of Chris and Liam Hemsworth will star in the upcoming action thriller "The Anomaly" alongside "Doctor Who" alum Noel Clarke.

Principal photography on the feature film began in London at the end of May. According to a press release, "Anomaly" explores "the issue of global terriorism." The screenplay, written by Simon Lewis, "follows the travails of a traumatized ex-soldier who wakes up in the back of a van, alongside a kidnapped boy, to find that he only has only nine minutes and 37 seconds of consciousness to work out why and how he got there."

Clarke is also directing the project. He previously helmed the 2008 movie "Adulthood" and 2010's "4.3.2.1." No release date has been set for "The Anomaly."
