Idris Elba may be the first black James Bond - report

idris-elba-super-bowl-gi.jpgThe idea has been tossed around for years that perhaps the next James Bond should be black. Even Daniel Craig doesn't see why not. Now, word comes via the Huffington Post that Idris Elba has taken a meeting with James Bond producer, Barbara Broccoli.

Naomie Harris -- who stars in "Skyfall" and plays Winnie Mandela to Elba's Nelson in "Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom" -- says Idris believes, based on his meeting with Broccoli, "there is a possibility in the future that there could very well be a black James Bond."

Being that he's a Brit, he'll already have the accent down. Naomie says she wasn't even aware prior to working with Idris that he was from London. "I thought he was an American, based on his role on "The Wire,'" says the actress.

While Elba may make look great in a tux, Craig is contracted for two more Bond films, so it may be a while before anyone sees the next incarnation of Ian Fleming's protagonist.

Until then, who would you cast as a Bond girl opposite Idris Elba?
