'Interstellar' gets a November 2014 release date, Hans Zimmer joins as composer
Things are moving forward quickly for Christopher Nolan's upcoming film "Interstellar." Not only will composer Hans Zimmer be working on the sci-fi flick, but the project also finally has a release date.
Deadline reports that Paramount Pictures has selected a Nov. 17, 2014 release date for "Interstellar." So far the only competition the movie has for that slot is the Disney 3D-animated Marvel film "Big Hero 6."
During a recent conversation with Collider, Zimmer confirmed that he is indeed working on the movie. "I wrote something ... and I'm writing that. So, yes, we have started," Zimmer says. Nolan and Zimmer are frequent collaborators, with Zimmer having written the scores for "Batman Begins," "The Dark Knight," "Inception," "The Dark Knight Rises" and the Nolan-produced "Man of Steel." He also acted as score producer on "The Prestige."
"Interstellar" stars Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain and Michael Caine. The story will "depict a heroic interstellar voyage to the farthest borders of our scientific understanding."
