Chris Pine and Jake Gyllenhaal are reportedly in talks to join the cast of Disney's "Into the Woods," a film adaptation of the Stephen Sondheim musical.
EW confirms Gyllenhaal's involvement, and the word on Pine comes from Deadline. The pair would take on the roles of Cinderella's Prince and Rapunzel's Prince, but there is no word as to which actor is up for which part. Already attached to the project are Johnny Depp as The Wolf and Meryl Streep as The Witch. Rob Marshall will pull double duty as producer and director.
Up next for Depp is Disney's "The Lone Ranger," in theaters July 3. For Streep, it's the star-studded drama, "August: Osage County." Gyllenhaal is currently filming "Prisoners" with Hugh Jackman and Terrence Howard. And Pine reprises his role as James T. Kirk in Paramount's "Star Trek Into Darkness," opening May 15.
