A new featurette for "Iron Man 3" shows off quite a bit of new footage, mixed in with cast interviews featuring all of the major players. One of the biggest reveals in the clip is Gwyneth Paltrow's character Pepper Potts suited up in Iron Man's armor, saving Tony Stark's ( Robert Downey Jr.) life.
"Robert was really interested in having Pepper do more in this movie," Paltrow says. The clips and trailers released so far focus on Stark not being able to live without Pepper. The Mandarin has quite a bit to do as well, being the film's villain. Oscar-winner Ben Kingley says he was happy to sign onto the role, "There's something original, dare I used the word intelligent, approached in this film."
The featurette also has the first footage of Happy Hogan, played by Jon Favreau. Favreau returns as an actor only for the third movie, after directing the first two. "It's fun to come back as Happy," he says. As for Colonel Rhodes, Don Cheadle says, "The relationship between Tony and Rhodey is deepening," with Downey Jr. adding, "We really wanted Rhodey to be able to match Tony in his bravado and his wit."
The clip also contains portions of interviews with Guy Pearce and Rebecca Hall, both of whom play scientists who work on the Extremis virus. "Iron Man 3" is in theaters May 3.
