Is FOX trying to Peacock-block NBC's upfront?

Eliza If you find yourself to be an entertainment journalist on Monday, May 4, 2009 at 1 p.m. ET you are probably going to have your attention focused on the 90-minute NBC "in" front presentation of their fall schedule to the press.

Or will you?

In the span of an hour-and-a-half on Friday (May 1) morning, FOX sent out invites to two conference calls happening at the exact same time as NBC's dog and pony show.

First with the mysterious Alpha who will be revealed on tonight's "Dollhouse" and then one with "Glee" creator Ryan Murphy

A spokesperson for the network swears it's "just a coincidence" and that they're now looking to push the "Glee" call to later in the day.

But it's exactly these kinds of things that make FOX (and the TV industry in general) so ... entertaining ... to us.
