It's a party! Pippa Middleton's lands $600,000 book advance
Pippa's guide to party planning -- after an apparently aggressive battle between publishers -- will be published by Penguin books in time for planning next year's holiday events. Middleton had apparently wanted to release the book earlier, but doesn't want to be seen as cashing in on Queen Elizabeth's upcoming Diamond Jubilee celebration of her 60 years on the throne of England.
The book is expected to guide readers on how to become the perfect party hostess. It will, per the Telegraph, include recipes, anecdotes and tips on how to throw several different kinds of events. No word yet on whether or not a royal wedding will be included.
And Pippa may just have some advice worth reading. The 28-year-old has been a professional party planner for at least three years, has regularly contributed to The Party Times, the online newsletter of her parents' Party Pieces party planning company and attends many functions in her capacity as Tatler's magazine's "Number 1 Society Singleton."
Here's an excerpt from Pippa's introduction to the January 2011 Party Times newsletter:
"Defying the doom and gloom of miserable weather we are still getting excited about endless party possibilities: In the boys' corner we've got a football theme, a sure score with the sporting crowd, and for the girls out there, a Snow White party is a perfect theme in this winter chill. Taking inspiration from the East, we have a Chinese New Year party feature; a great way to start off the first weekend in February. Then of course there's Valentine's Day, so feel the love with our party proposal."
She's clearly a natural.
