Jennifer Lopez had a nasty surprise waiting for her when she logged on to Twitter, after the Daily Mail reported a story she says is untrue. The UK paper claims a hotel maid in Germany got fired over asking Jen for an autograph.
But "Jenny From the Block" is not having that static. "C'mon thought you knew me better than this," the pop star and sometimes actress tweets, "Would never get anyone fired over an autograph. 1st I heard of this was on twitter. #hurtful"
The rumor started with an article in Bild, a German newspaper, who quoted the cleaning lady, Pray Dodaj, as saying, "I cleaned on her floor. And I am an incredibly big fan so I took all my courage and rang the bell to get an autograph. But I was rejected by two assistants at the door."
Well, actually, that sounds reasonable. You can't just go knocking on J-Lo's door asking for an autograph. But wait, after her grueling days as a pretend hotel worker in "Maid in Manhattan," surely Lopez can sympathize with this woman's plight, right?
Nope. Dodaj tells Bild, she was let go the next day, after Lopez complained to her employer. "I was fired right there on the phone. Because of an autograph,' she says.
The director of the German hotel confirmed Dodaj's termination, saying, "'She has acted contrary to the contractual arrangements and disturbed the privacy of our guests."
So, the jury's still out on this one. Do you think J-Lo had the maid fired? Or is there more to this story?
