Ja Rule heads to MTV with 'comedic' docu-series 'Follow The Rules'

What's a reality series without puns nowadays? MTV issued a straight-to-series order for a new docu-series based on the life and family of Ja Rule, appropriately titled "Follow The Rules."

The half-hour series is being positioned as a comedic reality show, according to MTV. As can be seen in the trailer above, the show certainly seems to be playing around with some light material instead of family drama and fighting. Ja Rule even pokes fun at his two years of jail time.

Ja Rule's family includes his wife Aisha, his daughter Brittney, his sons Jeffrey Jr. and Jordan, and both his wife and mother-in-law. Queen Latifah will executive produce the show.

The patriarch says of his new series in a statement: "I am truly honored and excited to be partnering with MTV and 51 Minds to bring you my new show 'Follow the Rules.' Family tradition will never be the same b**** ... Lmao!!! #FollowtheRules #MTV #51Minds #Maven #Visionary #flavorunit #Myfamilyiscrazy #Butweloveeachother #F***yocouch"
