Jack White's wife Karen Elson files restraining order during divorce proceedings
It doesn't look like the divorce proceedings between Jack White and his estranged wife Karen Elson are going well. Though the former couple celebrated their separation with a party back in June 2011, Elson has now filed a restraining order against White claiming he's harassing her with e-mails and phone calls.
This request was put in with the Nashville circuit court. According to the filing, White is trying to pressure Elson into a settlement agreement over their two children. He also tried to get her to move their son from the classroom of The Black Keys' singer Dan Auerbach's child.
"He has persisted in discouraging her from communicating with or taking advice from her counsel in effort to coerce her into acting against her and the parties' minor children's best interests, often by emails laced with profanity and calling wife derogatory names," the filing says. "These communications are often threatening in nature and the wife fears for her and the children's safety as a result of this harassment."
TMZ got a look at the e-mails in question, and notes that the derogatory names and profanity in question seems primarily focused on Auerbach, who he feels "ripped off" his music.
"My concern with Auerbach is because I don't want the kids involved in any of that crap ... That's a possible twelve f***ing years I'm going to have to be sitting in kids chairs next to that a**hole with other people trying to lump us in together," he says. "[Auerbach] gets yet another free reign to follow me around and copy me and push himself into my world."
