Jackie Chan anti-Americanism? 'Rush Hour' star calls U.S. 'most corrupt country'

jackie-chan-the-expendables-3.jpgWhen you think of Jackie Chan you think of his action-packed, and sometimes funny, movies like "Rush Hour" and "Shanghai Knights." What most Americans don't know is how political Chan can be. It's a side of him he doesn't show often in the United States, however he's very open about it in his native China.

The Washington Post reports when Chan was interviewed on Chinese television, he defended China against reports of corruption and compared it to America, calling the United States, "the most corrupt country in the world."

When asked to elaborate, Chan blamed the US for the financial crisis plaguing the world. He then criticized Chinese who openly badmouth their country and said they should only complain to each other. "To outsiders, [we should say] 'our country is the best,'" Chan believes.

Chan isn't new to controversial political statements, having once said, "Chinese people need to be controlled, otherwise they will do whatever they want."
